Fanboys:
Fanboy by definition requires someone to be obsessed with something, and not just have a strong preference for it.
The Oxford English Dictionary definition for it exactly is:
An Obsessive Male Fan (usually of Movies, Comic Books, or Science Fiction)
I repeat, you are not a fanboy just because you have a strong preference for something. You must be obsessed with it to be a fanboy. If your friend asks what console to get and you tell them to get a PS3, that doesn't make you a Sony Fanboy. If your favorite game is Halo, that doesn't make you a fanboy.
Fanboy is the most misused word on GT. Its almost as misused as a certain word on /b/ (Not going to say what the word is because someone will probably report me for it). In-fact, here, the word fanboy is used almost the same way. On /b/ people say new*** or brit*** or whatever, here, its exactly the same with fanboy. People use the Word as a suffix to describe someone's association with something. If you like the PS3, you're called a PS3 Fanboy, ect.
We should start trying to use the word Fanboy in the proper way, and not use it as a word to insult someone when describing them.
TL;DR: Most people on GT aren't fanboys, they just have a strong preference, which everyone has anyway, stop calling people fanboys who aren't actually obsessed with something.
